On MJ's, windmills posted a new Scotty possible album cut. "Southern Belle" (Sean McConnell / Jason Saenz) This is a likely Scotty cut. This recent PR regarding Jason Saenz's publishing deal with Gravity Gone Music and BMG Chrysalis mentioned: Saenz has penned songs for Little Big Town, David Nail, Eli Young Band, Kelleigh Bannen, Easton Corbin, Scotty McCreery, and Frankie Ballard, among others. Saenz didn't have a cut on either of Scotty's previous albums, so that mention was likely referring to the above song. www.mjsbigblog.com/idol-headlines-for-52015.htm#comment-2036021488McConnell most known co-writes are "Rewind" & " Changed" by Rascal Flatts and "Southern Voice" by Tim McGraw.

Windmills Country @windmillsmusic 6m6 minutes ago Added a new Scotty McCreery cowrite title to the likely cut posted earlier @mjsbigblog www.mjsbigblog.com/idol-headlines-for-52015.htm#comment-2036021488 … (see comment section) Here's the comments section updated (my highlights added): "Southern Belle" (Sean McConnell / Jason Saenz) "Nobody's Missing You" (Tom Douglas / Scotty McCreery / Allen Shamblin)
"Southern Belle" is a likely Scotty cut. This recent PR regarding Jason Saenz's publishing deal with Gravity Gone Music and BMG Chrysalis mentioned: Saenz has penned songs for Little Big Town, David Nail, Eli Young Band, Kelleigh Bannen, Easton Corbin, Scotty McCreery, and Frankie Ballard, among others. Saenz didn't have a cut on any of Scotty's previous albums, so that mention was likely referring to the above song. Tom Douglas and Allen Shamblin cowrote the modern day classic "The House That Built Me," which Miranda Lambert recorded and released. Allen Shamblin's also known for cowriting Bonnie Raitt's "I Can't Make You Love Me," and he cowrote a terrific song called "The Blade" that is the title track of Ashley Monroe's upcoming album. Tom Douglas has a long list of country cuts & singles, most recently including "Meanwhile Back At Mama's" (Tim McGraw) and "Raise Em Up" (Keith Urban with Eric Church). Scotty had tweeted about writing with those 2, so now we have a title to go with that tidbit.

We now have a song! "Whiplash" is an incredible start to the new Scotty era! I'm going to add this reply with the song and the lyrics (thanks to grandmadot) WHIPLASH! There I was workin' on that 2for1, Hanging out, just havin' fun, On a Friday night. We were rollin' slow, Til she steps on that floor, And boom, next thing I know, We hit thre "Speed of Light". Yeah, pedal to the metal, On a new Maserati, LORD HAVE MERCY, GOOD GOD ALMIGHTY, WHIPLASH! Off like a rocket, Eyes out the socket, Rocky Balboa, left hook, Throwing my head back, Right to the chin, Seein' walls spin, Can't help a friend, Watchin' her move like that, Shakin' those hips soooo fast, Ohhhhhh, gotta be WHIPLASH! When the song got through, She walks right up to me, And says, "How 'bout you buy me a drink?", Then, she took one sip, Into those sweet red lips, Gave me a long slow kiss, Before I could blink. Like the pedal to the metal, On a new Maserati, LORD HAVE MERCY, GOOD GOD ALMIGHTY, WHIPLASH! Off like a rocket, Eyes out the socket, Rocky Balboa, left hook, Throwing my head back, Right to the chin, Seein' walls spin, Can't help a friend, When she has lips (hips?) like that Everything happenin' so fast, Ohhhhh WHIPLASH! Every time she looks at me, We are goin' 0 to 60 in 1.3 WHIPLASH! Off like a rocket, Eyes out the socket, Rocky Balboa, left hook, Throwing my head back, Right to the chin, Can't help but spin, Can't help a friend, When she has moves like that, Shakin' those hips soooo fast, Ohhhhh, gotta be WHIPLASH! I got WHIPLASH! www.mjsbigblog.com/video-scotty-mccreery-debuts-new-song-whiplash.htm?utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitterfeed

What I want to know now is who co-wrote the song with Scotty or if the wrote it all himself. Such a great song!
And here is a thought I had in general about this song...When he started the SYT era we had "Rock This Night" "Suntan" and "SYT" and 2 of the 3 didn't make the main album and 1 of those that didn't was just a Walmart bonus track. So it's too early to know what will happen with "Whiplash." I look at it like this. If "Whiplash" is THIS good just think of how great the ones are that's coming we haven't heard!

I wonder if Frank was there. the first time Scotty sang Rock This Night, Suntan, SYT, Frank was there to see how the audience reacted. It was at the Katy crawfish fest. I was there.
