Does anybody think maybe it would be a good idea to separate actual headlining concerts from the charity radio events, guitar pulls, etc.??

Does anybody think maybe it would be a good idea to separate actual headlining concerts from the charity radio events, guitar pulls, etc.?? Yes. In fact they should appear as boards. A board for RF concerts would allow a thread for each date. A board for Radio events would allow a thread for each one. Easier to find and post for them in the futuerre - great suggeston!! Since we have not started posting concerts here yet this is a good time to set this up!

I'm hoping Deb will bring her events calendar here. She said she's just super busy with end-of-semester work right now and she doesn't have time to learn a new system. I'd like to wait to see what she wants to do.She might make adjustments and find improved ways to do the calendar here.

I just posted a poll I found from a tweet in the social media updates. I was wondering if we can have a separate thread like we had on IDF for radio requesting, polls, etc.

She's been really busy in her real life, but will be able to do it this week.

One of the attractive things about IDF is that you could see where you wanted to go as soon as you opened the page. Social media posts are frequent, MediaBase info should be easy to find, and a Board for web polls would allow each poll to be listed separately and be updated. Question - If no action occurred in a thread will it fall to the bottom of those listed over time? This would allow active threads to stay toward the top. Sorry for so many questions - just trying to understand the overall picture.

I wasn't really distinguishing in my mind when I said threads. I'm not sure if threads move up and down like they did on IDF, I haven't paid attention, but will try to notice or look around the admin to see if I can find out.

Season 1, I just went to www.soundcloud.com. I did not even know you could peruse this. I know I pay for sound cloud yearly for my apple devices. There are many posting Scotty Songs. I was astounded to find that "See You Tonight" had 4 posters; Interscope with a shortened version, had 580,104 plays, 11k likes, 291 comments (what a delight to read them) even on 1/2 of the song!!!!!! DjProsh, had 303,733 plays, 809 likes, 19 comments Drugstore Cowboy, had 116,221 plays, 331 likes, 11 comments Megan0201, had 527,383plays, 183 likes, 4 comments This is a total of 1,057,483 plays! The comments were from all fresh names that we do not see on twitter or forums!!! The big question is do these plays count for any kind of record sales? If so, we certainly want to include them in our forums - the more that turn them on and listen the better!! Administrators for MCF please register for this if it helps sales records or just as something fresh and new to introduce to this forum!! Thanks so much Season 1 - I see you are busy doing what we are trying to do with IDF gone!!!!

Soundcloud does count towards streams as sales, but it's a little unclear which one's really count. Similar to YouTube, not every video counts towards streaming. I assume they definitely count streams such as the SYT posted by Interscope which are from labels.

I don't like to add threads willy-nilly. Too many threads can be tedious. So I'm wanting opinions. We already have a better system here than IDF with Boards with Threads. It keeps the initial browsing easier.
Perhaps it's just my feeble mindedness, but I often have trouble finding the proper thread for a post. How about a Misc. thread in off topic to cover such things? Of course we could get too lazy and put everything there, and then that would become a problem. What do you think?

Then if we go by Interscope or UMG posts on soundcloud then the hits it gets from visitors to MCF can only help. Unfortunately it is only 1 minute and 30 seconds of the song - but it has those 291 comments to see!! So we need to be discerning about the posts we put on MCF unless we learn more about what plays count for sales. Thanks Ptebwwong!!

I understand tfortexas's comment about maybe too many threads is not necessary. Also, I understand the point that streaming these songs do count as sales so maybe we should post them. If a thread is created, I think it should include all the streaming services that count (except YouTube) since his music videos are already on separate threads. Soundcloud could be posted. Spotify also can be posted (although similar to Soundcloud there might need to be a plugin). From what I see, the most used streaming services are YouTube & Spotify. They also have more views for Scotty. For example, Spotify has over 14 million streams for SYT. So maybe we should focus on these 2 services more. Soundcloud counts, but I don't see the # of streams usually being as big as YT & Spotify. If no thread is created, we can always post the Soundcloud/Spotify streams such as SYT from Interscope on Scotty's Single thread.

Hope you do not mind all the threads in videos. I set them up because I would search and find things and had no place to put them. They were intended for us to rebuild the history of Scotty's journey on this forum. IDF was chronological going back. These threads will be categorized more by events over time.

No, i just wanted to ask if I should create a Misc. thread in Off Topic. I find nearly everything about MCF is better than IDF.

I have added the Soundcloud option. It is the orange and black button 2 down from the smiley face on the right. I am going to start a new topic under "Voting and Requesting Guide" titled "Scotty streaming" where we can embed Soundcloud, Spotify, and any audio. I'm putting it there since we will use it primarily to help with his sales. We should keep the Youtube videos on the Video forum to avoid clutter.
And any Misc posts should just be put in Off Topic. We can create as many threads as we want in Off Topic since it's all general un-related Scotty talk, which is miscellaneous.

Thanks so much Season 1 - I see you are busy doing what we are trying to do with IDF gone!!!! Sometimes, there are audio only recordings that remain on Soundcloud, like some radio interviews. For a while, we only had Soundcloud files of some Opry performances too. So it is nice to be able to embed them in discussion posts or keep track of them for fans to listen to on the forum. I also understand that you guys are only concerned with sounds that could help Scotty's sales. Anyway, it's good that he's getting a lot of plays on Soundcloud as well -- the more people to hear Scotty talk or sing, the more potential fans he can reach

Hey, Jonathon! I am not able to use the button to preview posts. That's helpful sometimes to see if a link is working, if you've quoted properly, etc. Hope you can check into that and help out! Thanks for all the work.

Thanks for all the work. I think when you reply it's automatic previews as you are replying in real time. It may be something Proboards has changed recently. I just checked Pulse Forums and it's doing the same thing there.

Personal Smilies You can now add your own, personal emoticons to the editing bar. You can currently have up to 25 of your own smilies. To create your list of smilies: Go to Profile>Edit Profile>Settings>Your Personal Smilies>Set ChangesA list of boxes will open after you click Set Changes. To add a smilie/emoticon, copy the image location of any smilie that you like. Paste the image location in the box provided. Each box accepts one image. you can add 5 at a time, then save settings to save those and get 5 more boxes etc. Once you have your list of personal smilies entered, click the Set Changes box and then click Save Account Settings at the bottom of the page. When you go to post on any thread, you should see your personal smilies have been added to the drop down box in the editing tools that already exists for smilies. Then click a smilie to add as usual. To get the image location, right click with your mouse on any emoticon you want, click “Copy image location” then paste into one of the boxes described above. Copying the image of the smiley doesn’t work, you need the URL. A good source for smilies and emoticons is www.pic4ever.com/index.php You can copy the URL from the list provided, or do the same as above by right clicking on the image and copying the image location. Right now, the personal smilies do not show up in the editing tools for the Shoutbox. I will investigate further to see if we can do that.

I'd like to see the concert tweets stay here is possible. My choice would be to go to IDF for concerts only if no one is able to post tweets here. Just my opinion. Also it's so much easier to post videos here. IMHO

Also it's so much easier to post videos here. IMHO I just saw your communication with IDF on embedding videos on IDF. I am traveling without my PC. Gave it a try on iPad on 3G but failed as you can see. Once home, I will hire a gal, I am aware of, to come and teach this to me and I will post the "how to" instructions for embedding on IDF!
