In General you need to do this to be ready to post for all of the following scenarios:You see an article, picture or video on twitter , you tube or the web that you want to bring to MCFOpen a new window on top of your twitter or web page Open mccreerians.freeforums.net Find the Board/thread where you want to post your video, picture, or article Go to the last page showing for the thread Go to the bottom of the page to the reply box Click on the word Reply in the upper right hand corner (for color, font size, or multiple picture or video posting this works best) A new text box will open and in it you will see tools for color, font, font size, bold, etc Type in what text you want for your post (if any) and embellish it with color, bold, etc (if needed) Minimize this window Now you are back on your twitter or web page and you can choose to do one of the following:
********************************************************************************* How to bring a tweet and/or its embedded video to MCFYou are now on twitter seeing the tweet with an embedded video that you want to bring to the forum Look below at the three dots Click on the three dots Click on copy link to tweet A new box will show with new text/numbers in it that are already highlighted Copy this Maximize your MCF reply box Paste this into the box as normal text Press Create Post Button The video will appear in your post and will bring the text written with it along too! If the post does not look like you want it to look choose Edit, select what you do not like and hit delete Your are in the Test thread. Give this a try!! These directions may sound detailed to our techies, but it was the detail I needed to get it right. Let me know if you have any questions. Instructions on how to embed a you tube video into your post on MCFWatch the video on the web Highlight and Copy the URL at the top of the page Maximize the MCF reply box Paste the URL into the reply box on MCF You will see text and numbers appear Click on the Create Post Button to see the video and its title
To post a picture from your computer on MCF:Go to the thread in which you want to post your photoUse the reply box as it is (do not hit reply in the upper right corner) Type any text needed to tell the date, venue or any other details about the picture Click on "Add Image to Post" in the reply box.A new box will open.Be sure computer is selected, then click "Browse".Choose your photo (I had to double click) It will add text to the browse line.Do not resize the photo. (This will post a small picture but if readers click on the picture it will become large)Click on Upload. In the Reply Box you will see html code printed out.Hit "Post Quick Reply" and it will appear in the post as your picture with the text you wrote. Anyone looking at the picture can enlarge it by clicking on it.Use the Test thread to try it out
To post a video from your computer (this advice is from Ptebwwong) Videos don't work the same way as photos. Attachments for posts have to be less than 1 MB. Videos have to be uploaded on one of the video sites (Ex. YouTube, Twitter, Dailymotion, etc.) first and then posted here.
Read more: mccreerians.freeforums.net/thread/7/scotty-mccreery-photo-thread#ixzz3amgLx9LI
To post a tweet with an Instagram on MCF. If the tweet has a picture embedded in it go to the posters name and right click on it to open their profile Look at the list of tweets and find the one you want Instead of the Instagram being embedded, it will have a text id Copy the tweet and id Maximize the MCF reply box Paste the tweet and id Click on Create Post The text will appear as such and the Instagram will appear - but slowly in the post
To post a tweet and its embedded picture Highlight and Copy the text portion of the tweet Maximize the MCF Reply Box Paste the text Minimize the Reply box Right click on the picture Choose Copy image URL Maximize the MCF Reply Box Click on the Button for adding pictures (which is to the right of the Button that looks like an envelope) A pop up box will appear and the top line will already be highlighted Do not look for a cursor just Paste and text will fill the top of the box Click on Insert Image The picture will show in the Reply Box Click Create Post and the text and picture will appear
We have not yet determined how to post a video from Facebook. If it is a public posting on FaceBook just give the URL so we can click on it.
********************************************************************************************* Would love to see more of you posting! Maybe print these out and try them in this test thread? I have learned so much in the last four concerts about posting than i ever knew before. This is actually so much easier than IDF ever was. If you try and run into trouble please ask questions!!!!!

I looked it up & Instagram videos cannot be posted here due to coding issues. ProBoards supports the following videos:
CollegeHumor Dailymotion Metacafe MySpace videos Twitch.tv UStream Veoh Vimeo YouTube Imgur GIFV
These supported videos can be posted using the Insert Video icon when you're posting.
I managed to post previously a Vine video because there's coding for this. Here is how you code Vines:
Post this in the post.
[ vine id="(A-Z0-9 from URL)" ]
Basically, just replace your Vine URL in the parentheses.
Once you see the Vine in the preview post, you can delete the leftover code in the preview.
Please ask if you need any help because I have done coding before. I will try to look up if there are other codes needed for other videos.

Here's how to post Twitter videos:
Post the following code in your post:
[ twitter id="number" ]
The Twitter URL should have a #. Use this number to replace the number portion in the code.
Please ask if you need any help.

Ptebwwong, I appreciate you helping. This is looking like Greek to me with zero experience in coding anything.
I am assuming you are not using the black box tool on this site. I have tried typing "[ twitter id=" then I go to the tweet and the video. I have now looked at the video right click options in the still position and in the video is running position. No matter what I choose I do not see what looks like a twitter #. Under what subtitle of the right click options do I find the twitter number that I can then use in the [] you recommend? Should the video be running when I right click?
So sorry i am so slow on this. I know I could do the late night concert tweets much more effectively if i could just understand this! Appreciate that you said I could ask questions.

Appreciate that you said I could ask questions. Happy to help! I know coding can be difficult. You do not need to play or use any options in the video. Just use the link to the video. Also, just post this like text in your post. You do not need to use any of the icons at the top of the post. So here's your original post: Marlee @marlee_Jean 13h13 hours ago I loved seeing bae last Saturday in Elkins. ? @scottymccreery #ILoveYouThisBig The link/URL to the tweet is this: https:// twitter.com/Marlee_Jean/status/596868025397149696 The #'s you need are all after status/ in the link. Copy & paste that in the code where the number should be. This is what your code should look like: [ twitter id="596868025397149696" ] Just close the spaces in the code. I posted it like this so it could show up as text & not the video. Let me know if this works or if you need more help.

[ twitter id= "594298109364080640" ]
this is what I got for trying to post the video from this tweet below. The other girl has her tweets protected so I could not look at the details.
Tori @torielaine92 May 1 I can't even delete any of my videos from @scottymccreery at the @beaubiloxi last year. So ready for June.
With this she has a video. I copied the "Copy image URL" option and then erased everything but the number. Do I need the " marks? Is there a space after =? Is there supposed to be spaces after and before each bracket? Maybe it is wrong to get the "number" from the right click option on the video saying "Copy image URL"?

took a closer look at the spaces.
Seeing a box that says my tweet will appear after I post, but it did not and it did not even show the correction in spaces i made - because it actually tried to execute the command. I am pretty sure I am not getting the number from the correct place.

Here's the original tweet: Tori @torielaine92 May 1 I can't even delete any of my videos from @scottymccreery at the @beaubiloxi last year. So ready for June. The link I have of the post is this: https:// twitter.com/Torielaine92/status/594298233347809280 Here's the code:[ twitter id= "594298233347809280" ] Your number is different than mine. If you go to the specific tweet, it should be the website link at the top of your browser. This is the link you should use. For example, if you need to use Yahoo's website, you would type in www.yahoo.com in the top bar of your browser. This is where you find the link you need to use. Do not copy, right click, or do anything with the video. Once you post the code, a box should appear in the preview telling you the post will appear once you post it.

Ptebwwong, wow it worked! Thank you so very much for sticking with me!! For any one else who has tried to follow what we are doing I got "The number" in the following way:
While reading tweets, I saw the one with the embedded video, then I had to click on a word in the tweet (which was not a link to something else). It made the tweet change so it was selected in some way to show details. With that, the URL changed at the top of the web page showing - a lot of text and the set of numbers that needed to be copied and pasted into the "Numbers". Have no spaces to the brackets or from the = to the ".
#HappyGirl!!!! Can't thank you enough, Ptebwwong!!!!

Go 6 icons over from the right when you Create a post. You see an icon for "insert video." Just copy and paste the entire URL address of the video and click "insert video" on the bottom and it should go right into the post.

Congrats Dot, you got it! You'll find out that these Pro Boards are much easier in the long run to use than the IDF format was. I'm glad you and everyone are enjoying it! I really want this site to flourish! Love the way we see it getting organized! I love the way you are saying we have the McCreerian forum. (like the name of a tall multi drawer file cabinet) Now you are creating Scotty boards like "Scotty Concerts" (like the name of one of the drawers to open) Then hopefully Buttons will create threads here for each venue (like the folders in the drawer) Then posts will be copied from twitter (like the papers in the folder) Great!!! Love that we are building this and understanding this together for the sole purpose of supporting Scotty in every way possible!! No fears that someday someone will take it away. No error messages. We are McCreerians building what feels like a new home for just us - and I am loving that feeling. I want to say that I am so thankful for all the years we had IDF because it is where we were able to initially support Scotty and meet each other. I know we still have transition to go through, bringing some of the old to the new, but I am loving our new place more and more everyday! Thanks to Mary and you for all you are doing!!

I just hope that Packman and Ashley find their way over here...and maybe show this site to a special someone it'd dedicated to!
I love the idea of no one above us with their own personal agenda that is on a faulty server whose creator doesn't even care about it anymore.
The only rule here is the basic Golden rule of respect, other than that we all can just relax, have fun, and embrace all things Scotty!
If anyone has suggestions of stuff to add, let me know!

Great work here! I think the McCreery's will find the site. Might also help to occasionally post links over on Twitter and Facebook so old fans and potential new fans can find the site easily.
Another thing, we can have a complete Off-Topic section with several threads over here. At IDF anything off topic was relegated to one thread. We can actually have different subjects over here. Oh, and 'game' threads that would not have been allowed in IDF.
