I am sorry to have to cancel plans for us to meet at Bud's Catfish Shack in Nashville June 9 at 4:00.
I just received an email from the Opry and there is going to be a big parking lot party with free music and food trucks beginning at 5 pm. They advise getting there well in advance to get parking.
I look forward to seeing you all at the FC Party and many of you at the Opry!

Question : When Scotty plays golf with Rucker are there spectators watching them play? i have not heard of an opportunity to buy a ticket to follow your favorite player as he golfs. I would think this would bring in $$$$. Does anyone know if this kind of ticket purchase exits at CMAfest?

I tried to find info on golf on Darius' site as well as golf course site. Nada. It would seem to be a way to make money for charity. So how does the golf game Rucker runs each year raise money for charity? Do they raise money for charity? I really have not paid attention to this. With no spectator tix it seems like an opportunity lost. Thanks Sue for trying to get a lunch/dinner going in Nashville. Sounds like a busy, busy week for you all. Have a blast!!! See you in Columbus!!

As posted earlier, I would like to invite everyone who will be in Nashville on Tuesday, June 9 to come join in on a get together at the Two Twenty Two Grill located in the lobby of the Country Music Hall Of Fame. They are a limited service facility which means everyone will order from the counter and then all sit to enjoy some lunch and time to be together before our hectic Scotty schedule begins. They have a good selection of hot and cold lunch dishes. We will be there at 11:00. Would love to see everyone.
Safe travels to you all as you begin your journey to Nashville.

Beau Rivage, Biloxi, MS, June 26, 2015The following 11 members are listed as going to Biloxi: argran23, bleuwolf, GrandmaDot, jailbelle, mism, mmmtx, MSFan, MsTee, stepB692, TenorTrish and WarEagleGram This list contains names of some members I have not met or have not seen in a long time - so excited to see you all soon! Is anyone going that is not on the list? Is anyone on the list unable to go. Who, on the list, is traveling with family or guests (for the correct count for a get-together)? I am thinking about a lunch get-together at the Beau Rivage on the day of Scotty's concert. Can everyone be at the Beau Rivage by lunch time - say 12:30 pmCT? Is there anyone not staying at the Beau Rivage? I ask this interested in knowing how many want to meet post concert for a possible "lobby party" experience. It may not be in a lobby since this is a casino hotel - but maybe we can meet in a designated bar/restaurant area. So I will Start. Please quote this and add to the list. I say this because I know Sharon Jiles will be giving information about the Columbus, GA concert get-togethers soon! In the meantime, I will look over the amenities at the casino hotel. Hope to hear from you all soon!! grandmadot - party of 2 - staying at the Beau Rivage - 2 for lunch - 2 for a lobby party Dot, The Beau Rivage does not have seating in the lobby. There is a nice area off the Coffee shop, so it will have to be in something like that or a restaurant. I will be 2 for all the above.

Hope to hear from you all soon!! grandmadot - party of 2 - staying at the Beau Rivage - 2 for lunch - 2 for a lobby party Dot, last year we used the Terrace Cafe to meet for an early dinner and also after the show. It is off the main lobby right inside the entrance to the hotel. I like the location because it is away from the gaming area, and they have a varied menu. Their website now says it is open 24/7. I want to say that last year, it closed around 3:30 and reopened around 4:30 or 5:00. Their web site information either isn't correct, or they have changed the hours to all day. It's just really convenient because you don't have to leave the hotel before and after the show for dinner. My suggestion would be a late lunch/early dinner there and then return after the show like we did last year. Here's a photo of the group last year in the Terrace Cafe before the show in September. Like I said, we went back here after the show, and some got a snack, a sandwich, or whatever they were hungry for afterwards. This worked out well, and it was very relaxed before and afterwards because there was no rush. We could make a reservation for the group after we know the number, but after the show, it should not be a problem if we just walk in. Some did not join us afterwards because they were traveling home. I think most will find the Beau Rivage is a very nice hotel and casino, and everyone should enjoy it. You will recognize most at this table in the photo below for sure. lol On another note, if you want coffee in your room and don't want to order room service, you might want to bring a small coffee maker (Keurig?) with you because they don't provide coffee makers in the rooms. I ordered coffee and breakfast through room service, but they do have a few coffee shops downstairs. To give you a little history about the Beau Rivage, when it was first built, they had huge live and transplanted magnolia trees (state tree) brought in and planted in the lobby areas. I have forgotten when they were taken out, but it was quite impressive for a few years. The entire hotel was redone of course after Katrina. My favorite restaurant, Mary Mahoney's Old French House, which is across the street about a block from the Beau Rivage, is my recommendation for anyone wanting to experience a restaurant like you would find in New Orleans. It is an old carriage house built in the 1700's that was converted into a restaurant years ago. It was the first restaurant to open after Katrina. The owner had all of his contractors lined up before Katrina ever reached MS. This is where we met Robin Roberts last year. She is from the MS Gulf Coast, and people on the coast love her because she covered a lot of the news there after Katrina. She is a sweetheart. Many celebrities, presidents, etc. have eaten there and knew Mary Mahoney personally before she passed away. Her children manage the restaurant now. Here's a link to the history about the restaurant if you are interested. www.marymahoneys.com/web/history.aspx?pid=10 Another great option is a more casual restaurant that we (my husband and I) also love called The Half Shell. It is also on a street a few blocks from the Beau Rivage. It, as well as Mary Mahoney's, serves New Orleans style seafood. The French influence is felt over the entire MS Gulf Coast in a lot of the restaurants because the French occupied it at one time. We are just one step out of New Orleans and Cajun country. lol I didn't mean to go into so much detail but wanted to give some suggestions. Let me know if I can be of assistance in making reservations or plans of any kind for the group. My husband years ago used to reserve a room in Mary Mahoney's for private dinners. The only problem with a private dinner is that it is a set menu. During the daytime hours, you can see the huge live oak out the windows called "The Patriarch." It is said to be 2000 years old. There's just a lot of history there and very unique. Jamie Peters (MSFan)

Hey, MSFan! Info is much appreciated. I'm a very recent transplant who just loves the area down here. I haven't tried Mary Mahoney's yet but I see it getting high marks on all the restaurant listings. I've done the Half Shell Oyster House in Biloxi several times now. The most recent was at the new one they have in the Hard Rock Casino. www.wxxv25.com/news/local/story/Hard-Rock-Hotel-Casino-Biloxi-to-Add-Half-Shell/5AMXnCJIrEy9WEp3As1TSg.cspxFood was just as great as the older location (if not better if that's possible) and the atmosphere was unbelievable! The Hard Rock Half Shell edged out the original Biloxi location for me. I consider it the best I have tried on the coast and I've tried a few seafood restaurants around here. Second favorite on the coast right now is Bubba Gump's at the Golden Nugget. It's got great seafood too. www.goldennugget.com/biloxi/eat_bubbagump.aspAnother favorite, McElroy's Harbor House, is just .4 miles from the Beau. It's the first restaurant I ever tried in Biloxi. It's not associated with any casino. Sits up nice and high with a great view out over the water. www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g43686-d3242370-Reviews-McElroy_s_Harbor_House_Seafood_Restaurant-Biloxi_Mississippi.htmlYes, McElroy's has been around forever. I have lived in MS all of my life, so I know all about McElroy's. It's on the same side as the Beau Rivage. I just named the top two that I would choose that are close to the Beau Rivage. There are many great restaurants on the MS Gulf Coast. A lot of people love McElroy's. I actually have a friend who has family that owns it. It goes way back! It's super casual, does have a pretty view of the water, and is close to the hotel. I have been to both of the Half Shell restaurants which are in Gulfport and Biloxi and prefer the one in Biloxi. I haven't been to the one in the Hardrock Casino, but I believe it replaced another restaurant that was there. I believe the food would be good no matter which one you went to. We are actually getting a Half Shell restaurant in Flowood, MS in August, and the first quarter of 2016 in Madison, MS, where I live. It will be built from the ground up here because it has to meet certain architectural guidelines here. I'm looking forward to both. They are a step up from casual dining but a step down from fine dining. It's in the middle. Food is excellent at all of them! You can't go wrong with any of them. I've never been to Bubba Gumps but have seen that chain in other cities. I think between the two of us, we have covered the ones closest to the Beau Rivage. Actually, the Terrace Cafe inside the Beau Rivage is excellent, has a varied menu, and you don't have to leave the hotel. I would recommend it if anyone wants to eat dinner at the hotel before the show on Friday and not have to get your car and leave. That's what we did last year. We stayed inside the hotel the day of the show and used the Terrace Cafe. It worked out great! Thanks so much for your input. I believe as far as the large group meeting and eating together, it will be at the Terrace Cafe the day of the show like last year. On another note, I got a notification on FB that the time for the show had been changed to 8 p.m. It's an event page on Facebook.

My husband and I used to come down this way every 2-3 months. McElroy's was a tradition - we always had to eat there! Liked to sit back by the lobster tank that they had before Katrina did it's thing. Steff and I were coming back from breakfast this AM when she pointed out Mary Mahoney's and said ' we have GOT to try that place.' I told her it was next on the list. You're right about the Terrace. It is so convenient for so many McCreerians who will be staying in the area. I think lunch there is a good call.

Denim & Diamonds Concert, June 20 Columbus, GAThe following people are attending this concert: Bleuwolf, flgrandma43 (concert only), GrandmaDot, hummin4454, LFH311, Mamalety1949, MSFan (Pete), MsTee, Nelliesc (Bruce), paris2753, SharonJiles (Chris), TenorTrish (Keith) and WarEagleGram
Hey Everyone! Glad to have this thread set up for concert get-together planning (Thanks, Dot!)---I was just planning on e-mailing the above group about plans for Denim & Diamonds before I leave town in the morning. Dinner on Friday night: I have a small private dining room, the Muscogee Room, reserved at the Columbus Marriott, 800 Front Avenue (corner of 8th Avenue & Front Avenue) for us to have dinner together. We can start arriving there at 6:30, order drinks if you wish, visit, etc. You will be able to order off a dinner menu with several choices of entrees, etc.---yes, there will be a gluten-free choice, and each person/couple will just pay separately for their own meals. It will just be nice to have a quiet place where we can all be seated together so that we can visit. My two sons and their wives are coming also---I am so excited about them getting to meet some of my dear "Scotty friends!" "Lobby Party:" After the concert, whoever wants can just go back to the Marriott---there are some seating areas in the lobby, and they have a nice bar that stays open pretty late on Saturday night---I think midnight, but I will have to check that again. The Marriott is only about a mile from the Civic Center where the concert is!
Y'all---please reply here and let me know when you are arriving/leaving and where you are staying. More later. Can't wait to see everyone!!
Sharon, I am sorry I am just seeing this! I take one trip at a time, and I've had only Nashville on my mind recently. lol What a great time we had in Nashville! Over the top fun! The Grand Ole Opry (both shows) and the Fan Club Party were definitely the highlights for the trip. CMT Awards was okay. lol I enjoyed Carrie.
Pete and I will be traveling to Columbus on Friday, June 19th, and should be there in time for the dinner at the Marriott hopefully! We are staying at Homewood Suites away from downtown. No problem getting to the Marriott as we will be driving and have our car. We look forward to seeing everyone. We will be leaving on Sunday. That is Father's Day, and I will need to get home!
My husband looks forward to visiting and seeing Columbus again. He was stationed at Fort Benning in Columbus for basic training and then went to Fort Knox in Kentucky for armor training. It was here that he was almost deployed to help fight the 6 Day War in Israel. They did not have to go, and he was sent instead to Viet Nam. He applied to go to Mississippi College from Viet Nam. I think he decided he might need to finish his education there? GI Bill paid not only for his undergraduate degree in Business Administration but also his Juris Doctorate (law degree), and believe me, he earned EVERY SINGLE PENNY of it because of what he went through in Viet Nam. He slept on a cot in a makeshift shelter with a dirt floor, had no hot water for showers, ate rations, saw his friends and members of his unit blown up by mines right in front of his eyes, hit a mine in his tank a few times, broke his arm, and lost part of his hearing there. He returned to the U.S. to a country that showed them NO appreciation. Since then, it has turned around thankfully. He has never applied for any benefit from any of it except for his education. He is a huge WWII buff, so I know he will want to go to the museums in Columbus.
I appreciate so much Scotty recognizing and giving thanks to our military and veterans. On my flight home from Nashville, there was an old fellow in his eighties sitting across from me, and he fought overseas during World War II as a bomber pilot. A lot of people were thanking him for his service, one of which was one of my state's Representatives. People were going out of their way to help him because of his age. Sweetest fellow! That is truly The Greatest Generation! My dad was also on a bomber during World War II. Most did not come back alive. Later, when I was around two, my dad used to take me up in a small plane. He said my eyes would get as big as saucers. lol He has always been fun. He recently turned 89 and renewed his driver's license for another 10 years. lol He's a character for sure and keeps us laughing! He sang and played guitar with a band before I was born, and this is where I learned all of the old country music songs. My dad loved country music and introduced me to the Opry when I was around two. Scotty was the one that brought me back to country music because I grew up listening to a lot of genres in Mississippi. I just love music and the performing arts period.
I'm sorry I got off topic and on this, Sharon, but Columbus is a military town, and Pete was stationed there. I am just full of TOO many stories though!
Thanks so much for keeping us apprised of what is happening. You have been such a big help for this benefit concert and appreciate it so much! See you and everyone soon!

Biloxi lunch/lobby party plans - need to hear from a few of you!!
Thank you all for your input about the Biloxi dining opportunities!
Have not heard from MSFan, MsTee, or Tenor Trish with regard to the 12:30pmCT lunch at the Terrace Cafe in the Beau Rivage on June 26th (the day of Scotty's concert). Sure hope for us all to get together!!!
So far, we have 15 coming to lunch!!!!! Some have posted their participation and others have emailed me with their participation. I would appreciate hearing from all by the 18th - my life gets happy/crazy for a week after that and I will not be posting much on the computer.
As far as the post-concert lobby party, we will meet at the same location. No need to let me know whether to expect you for this get-together. Drinks and food can be ordered after the show and it is not a busy time for the restaurant.

Well, I see that I, MSFan, and MsTee, both of us from Mississippi, haven't responded. lol As I have said in earlier posts, I liked what we did last year myself as far as times. Some who are traveling to the Beau Rivage the day of the concert will not get there in time for the luncheon. They were able to join us last year for an early dinner. If this is what the majority want though, then it's fine with me. Put me down as coming or a maybe. Will everyone wait from lunch at 12:30 p.m. until after the concert to eat again? I ordered breakfast last year in order to get coffee, and I wasn't really hungry until later in the afternoon, so I'm going to have to play it by ear as to whether I eat at 12:30 or not. I can come though and visit. Except for one other reservation away from the Beau, we pretty much played it by ear last year, and it all worked out great and wasn't rushed. The Terrace Cafe is used to accommodating large groups last minute, especially if it isn't during the busiest times in the restaurant which is at noon and during regular dinner hours. During off hours, it is quieter and more relaxed. I like quiet and relaxed myself, but that's me. lol I'm flexible.

I just wanted to come on here and say a big thank you to everyone at the Friday night dinner at the Marriott in Columbus for welcoming me to the group. It was the most fun I have had in a long time, and it was wonderful just sitting around with people who share my passion for a young 21-year-old country singer who I have decided has to be one of the best, if not the best, country singer that ever was, especially after hearing him sing last night. Anyway, I just wanted to say a huge "Thank You" to all!! Don't want to mention specific names and leave someone out, because I always forget something, but you all are my kind of people and can't wait to get more integrated into the group!! Much love and safe travels home!!

Hope to hear from you all soon!! grandmadot - party of 2 - staying at the Beau Rivage - 2 for lunch - 2 for a lobby party
