I have always liked George Strait, Alan Jackson, Randy Travis, Travis Tritt, Keith Whitley, The Judds, Alabama, Garth Brooks. Newer artists would be Chris Young, Carrie, Kellie, Josh Turner. Oh, and Reba, Patty Loveless, Mary Chapin-Carpenter. I love Dolly Parton!! I also used to really like Clint Black and Tracy Byrd. There are others, too, just can't think of them all right now!!

I like people with good singing voices, first and foremost. I thought of a few more -- Sara Evans. I like Trace Atkins singing his more sweet meaningful songs or gospel songs. I also like Tim McGraw, he has done a lot of good stuff. Faith Hill, Lorrie Morgan, Trisha Yearwood....Oh, I also love Don Williams!! I like Dierks Bentley, especially when he is doing bluegrass stuff. And I adore Allison Kraus! I have every one of Brad Paisley's Albums, love him.

Too many to list. Of course George Strait is my first Scotty. No internet in those days but I devoured every news article, magazine story, TV show - I remember seeing him on Austin City Limits. I like Alan Jackson, Tracy Lawrence, Brad Paisley, (sorry but I do like Luke Bryant) and Kenny Chesney. For today's singers, I like Aaron Watson, Tyler Farr, Brett Eldridge, Chris Young and a few others.

Brad turns the Country stars into cartoon characters. This is pretty funny! FL-GA Line as Beavis and Butthead is quite appropriate...

Scotty's fellow Mercury artist, Chris Stapleton's, new album "Traveler" is now out. It debuted #2 on the Country album chart. Very impressive for someone who radio refuses to play. This album is INCREDIBLE! I wish George Jones had lived to hear this! Traditional Country and Blues with such a smooth velvet voice! I recommend it to anyone longing to hear REAL Country music from a new artist. Mercury sure has the 2 best REAL Country artists in the business in Scotty and Chris!

I don't know how Chris is personally, but I'm sure loving his album!

I purchased Chris Stapleton's album last week. The standout tracks for me are "Traveller", "Fire Away" and "Nobody To Blame". I hope radio will play "Traveller". I love it.

One of my husbands favorites is Merle Haggard. We like George Straight, Alan Jackson, Reba, Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, Alabama, Oak Ridge Boys, Eli Young Band to start with a few. We like Carrie & Brad but not so much of their newer music the "so called new country". Happy Brad seems to be doing less of the new country. Thought of a few more...Jim Reeves, Marty Robbins, Roger Miller, Josh Turner, Brooks & Dunne, Dwight Yoakum...(chuckling)...listing some of these names can see why I am not fond of most of the "new country"

Oh my! I have so many favorites! I enjoy music from many, many country artists. I'm a country music follower from 70's. Prior to that I didn't think country was 'cool'. The 'outlaws' changed that fore me. I still enjoy all their music including some that might be lesser known like Billy Joe Shaver and Jerry Jeff Walker. Red Dirt music tends to have some of the elements of outlaw music. Right now, I do not enjoy country radio. Scotty is about the only reason I listen but there are some I enjoy when they come on. Lee Brice and Eric Paslay are two who get commercial play that i enjoy. Others will have the occasional country song. Other than Scotty, I genuinely enjoy Sturgill Simpson. It's amazing what he has accomplished in the current country music environment. countryperspective.com/2015/01/17/sturgill-simpson-signing-with-atlantic-records-could-make-huge-impact-on-country-music/ I think what Sturgill has accomplished with his two independent albums should tell country music big wigs that - Heck, yes, there is plenty of market for the more traditional sounds on your danged radios! I'm envisioning Scotty's upcoming new CD having the same impact!

I guess Hunter has got desperate since his last entirely self written album tanked with radio. His new single "21" was written by Dallas Davidson, not him. This is the demo. Such mediocre mess like everything else on the radio. Hunter may not have the best voice but his writing has always distinguished him since it's nothing Bro-Country. That's out the door now.

Dallas Davidson must be stopped!! I think he has one song he keeps just changing with awful lyrics again and again. He's also responsible for the new horrible Luke Bryan song:

I have heard music on both of his albums & prefer his 1st album. On another website, I saw that he was releasing a new single & he had performed it in concert. I checked out the concert video of "21." I was really surprised. I was thinking this isn't "him." Then it all made sense when I heard he didn't write it. I understand that his last album wasn't as successful as many hoped. However, IMO what had set him apart from other new artists was his songwriting and that he wasn't bro-country such as Cole Swindell, Thomas Rhett, etc. I'm not a Hunter fan, but I don't think he should have done this. I already thought he was starting to have a specific "sound" in his music to differentiate himself from others, but this just sounds like most of the artists out there. Unfortunately, I can see this song going either way. If it doesn't do well, it could be "back to the drawing board" again for Hunter. If it does well, I can see the label & management getting him to work with more songwriters for new material & him getting less opportunities to have his own written singles.

Poor Harlan must be flipping in his grave so often now he's causing mini earthquakes!

It's Luke Bryan He is golden now so it's not about the song or the music he can get away with it! Sad thing is IMHO he is actually pretty good when he sings a decent song.
